Hannah's Circle Hannah was a godly, though barren, woman. She prayed for a son, and vowed to dedicate him to the Lord as a Nazirite. Eventually, she bore Samuel (1 Samuel, 2 Samuel) who would go on to shape forever the path of the chosen people of God. While still very young, serving the priest Eli, Samuel was called by the Lord. The Lord blessed Samuel and, “let none of his words fall to the ground” (1 Sam 3:19) so that all the people knew he was a great prophet. He served Israel for many years as both judge and priest. Though he is known for many things, (including the Ebenezer Stone) it was Samuel who anointed Saul, and later David as the first two kings of Israel. Hannah's Circle is a group of ladies who gather on the fourth Thursday of each month for fellowship. Support and uplift one another, pray for one another and the world around us, and have fun. Would you like to go to dinner or a movie and dessert? Would you like to just share what's been going on in your life? Can you help prepare for the Chicken-Noodle Supper, or work on decorations for the annual Ladies Spring Fellowship in May? Choose a Secret Pal in January; remember that person in various ways throughout the year; watch them discover who you are in December. We close our meetings with "something we're thankful for" and "something (or someone) we need to pray about." |
